The Arctic Tern is nature’s long-distance champion, migrating over 70,000 km annually between the Arctic and Antarctic. When and Where to See Arctic Terns
Arctic (June–August): The Arctic summer is the best time to observe Arctic Terns nesting and raising their young. They can be seen along the coastlines of Greenland, Svalbard, and Iceland.
Antarctic (November–February): During the Antarctic summer, terns are spotted feeding in the Southern Ocean’s rich waters. Their graceful flight and distinct calls are a highlight of any polar cruise.
